Brand Verdicts Methodology

Privacy policy

This site collects as little as a website can. Here is the full list.

What is collected

Server logsThe web server records the IP address, requested URL, time, referrer and browser string of each request, as servers do. Logs are kept for a short rolling period for security and capacity planning and are not analysed per visitor.
Contact formName, email address, the topic you choose and your message. These are written to a log file on our server and emailed to the desk. They are kept for as long as the correspondence is useful and then deleted. Your IP address is stored alongside the message to enforce a per-address rate limit.
Outbound clicksClicking a brand link passes you through /go/, which records nothing beyond the ordinary server log entry before forwarding you.

What is not collected

No analytics scripts, no advertising trackers, no cookies set by this site, no accounts, no newsletter. The only third-party request a page makes is to Google Fonts for the two typefaces, and to Pexels for photographs; both receive your IP address as part of serving the file, under their own privacy terms.

Brands you click through to

Once you leave for a brand's site, that brand's privacy policy applies. The tracking parameters we add to the URL identify this site as the referrer; they do not identify you.

Your rights

Readers in the UK, the EU and other jurisdictions with data-protection law may ask what we hold about them and ask for it to be deleted. In practice that means contact-form messages. Write to contact@brandverdicts.com.

Changes

If this policy changes, the change and its date will be noted here and on the changelog.
